Cosplay Scavenger Hunt

Calling all super sleuths, master detectives, Waldo seekers, and excellent finders (Hufflepuffs, we’re looking at you)! Put your scavenging skills to the test and you could win a prize! Starting June 23, your local libraries will each have 1 awesome FanCentral poster featuring one of Dallas Public Library’s finest cosplayers and a special code word.

Find 7 separate code words in all and submit them HERE by July 24 to enter into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Cosplayers wanting to get in on the fun can take a picture with any of the posters and use the hashtag, #FanCentral2021 and @Dallaspubliclibrary. You might just be featured on Dallas Public Library’s social media! 

• While we would love for you to visit all library locations, it's not necessary! Find the location nearest you with one of the 7 posters. Each of the following sets of 4 library locations has the same poster.

Cosplay Contest

Attention Cosplayers! Let your creativity and skills shine! Show us what you've got for FanCentral's Cosplay Contest, because what is a fan experience (even virtually) without a chance to show off some of your hard work and fab costumes! That's right, this virtual convention will be accepting submissions online through Instagram or email. 

Strut your stuff, virtually! 

• Guidelines:
  • Submissions open from June 23 to July 24 at 12 p.m. CST.
  • Submitting via Instagram
    • Valid submissions will have the hashtag #FanCentral21 and tag @Dallaspubliclibrary!
    • In the description put your name, age, the character you are cosplaying, and what category you're submitting to. 
  • Submitting via email
    • Email submissions to libraryprograms@Dallascityhall.com
      • In the email, put your name, age, character information, and what category you're submitting to.
        • Categories- Best Group, Best in Show, and Most In-Character (likeness). Entries will be divided into two age groups. 
  • Entries must be family-friendly 
• Deadline:
  • To be considered for the contest, all entries must be posted/submitted by Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 10 p.m. CST.

Winners Announced:

Winners will be announced at the Geek Central After Party on July 24, 2021 at 8 p.m.! Attendance is not required to receive your prize.
