Join the discussion of racism against Asians in the past and present, in addition to historical xenophobia and racism against Asians and the rise in hate crimes against Asians during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a partnership between the City of Dallas and the Dallas Chinese Community Center to bring you this discussion on addressing hate crimes against Asians.  Moderated by Joan Wu, Board member of the Dallas Chinese Community Center, with panelists:

  • Christina da Silva- Welcoming Communities & Immigrant Affairs Officer
  • Jack Fan- Dallas Asian American Bar Association
  • Nam Soo- Dallas Police Department Office of Community Affairs. 

We will be focusing on the history of these crimes, resources on safety- particularly in response to hate crimes, and how to connect with relevant organizations to seek help.
