Annual Backpack Challenge Collection Drive

Help keep our homeless neighbors warm this winter. Dallas Public Library is collecting warm winter supplies and adult backpacks. Work with family and friends to fi­ll packs with adult gender neutral items or collect supplies.

Drop off backpacks and supplies to any local Dallas Public Library location by Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Please donate the following items with your backpack

• New or gently used backpack
• Gloves
• Warm hat
• Warm socks
• Scarf
• Fleece blanket
• Rain poncho
• Refi­llable water bottle
• Deck of playing cards
• Travel size toiletries: hair comb or brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and lotion

Library staff will make every effort to ensure the backpacks all have the same items. Please limit donations to the items listed. 

If you want to make a monetary donation toward supplies for the challenge, donations may be made to the Friends of the Dallas Public Library at www.supportdpl.org.
