DPL Genealogy Specialist II Ari Wilkins will discuss how to search for the enslaved and formerly enslaved in newspapers. Newspapers are such treasure troves of important family information - you can even glean information from historical advertisements! Ari will also present a case study on how newspapers can lead you to other sources & different types of newspapers, and talk about how to discern the political slant of historical newspapers.
