Bob Rigdon will lead a "detectorist deep dive" as he talks about the items of historical significance he found using his metal detector in historic Dallas locations like North Dallas Freedmantown and the Tenth Street Historic District.  Learn about his process and experiences, and see original objects on exhibit on the 7th floor of the Central Library.

Robert Lee "Bob" Rigdon is a resident of Duncanville and a U.S. Army veteran.  In addition to decades of experience in metal detecting, he is also a professional family genealogist, actor and research historian featured in several treasure hunting magazines. His YouTube channel highlights some of the significant relics he has found and preserved over 42 years of detecting in Dallas.

In his own words: "My goal is Preserving Dallas History. The main areas that I have focused on has been the North Dallas Freedman Town and more recently the Tenth Street Historic District. I am a member of the Lone Star Treasure Hunting Club in Irving and Facebook groups, Pioneers of Dallas, the Dallas History Guild, Dallas County Pioneer Association and numerous others."

This event is part of our Summer Saturdays at Central series!
