Purpose of Meeting

This is a free community performance of Cara Mia's touring play Ursula, or let yourself go with the wind. Cara Mia will be offering three free community performances in three neighborhoods in Dallas (Oak Cliff, Bachman Lake, and Pleasant Grove) and they will be holding the Bachman Lake Performance at the Bachman Lake Branch Library's Black Box Theater. This will be completely free to guests and will not be a ticketed event.

Ursula tells the journey of Nadia, a 7 year-old, separated from her mother at the US-Mexico border. While Nadia waits for her asylum to be processed, she reflects on the life she left behind in Honduras while reliving the arduous journey to the United States. Through original music, movement and puppets, Ursula speaks to the heart of our shared humanity as audiences experience detention through the eyes of a child trying to make sense of all that is happening around her.
