As we celebrate Black History Month, we will learn about different African American artists and their different art styles. Alma Woodsey Thomas is now recognized as a major American artist of the 20th century. She actually didn't begin her career until later in life after retiring from teaching for 35 years! She is best known for her abstract paintings with bright and vibrant colors. During this after school craft, we will be making small paintings that mimic Alma Woodsey Thomas' style.
