Event Details

In partnership with Remembering Black Dallas and The Dallas Black Power Legacy Project, we are celebrating the history of 1960s and 1970s Black Power and Black Consciousness Movements in Dallas. Additionally, we are celebrating Dallas History & Archives' newly acquired collections including material from Al & Lovie Lipscomb, the Dallas Black Power Legacy Project, and Fahim Minkah. There will be two exhibits on the 7th floor featuring the material the Dallas Black Power Legacy Project group has donated. There will also be a presentation about the Black Power experience in Dallas, a panel discussion of former and current group members, followed by artistic performances and a reception.
