Starting a Zero Waste Lifestyle – Small Steps for Sustainability

So many modern conveniences help us with our busy lives. Things like Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils decrease the time to clean up after dinner, but at what cost to the environment? This session will discuss reusable alternatives for common disposable items we use every day.

To start your zero waste journey, each person will see how to upcycle an old t-shirt into a washable shopping bag. If you'd like to participate during the session, please have an old t-shirt and a good pair of scissors with you.

Earth Day Every Day! is a series of online environmental education sessions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.  Presented by Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability (DEQS; Green Dallas).  These topics empower Dallas residents to make sustainable choices to improve the quality of life for everyone in Dallas and the world.
