The White Rock Hills Book Club meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month. 

 

This month's book is The Satapur Moonstone by, Sujata Massey. 

A curse has fallen upon Satapur's royal family when the Maharaja dies of a sudden illness shortly before his son dies in a tragic accident. Set in India in the 1920s, The Satapur Moonstone depicts a time of strife, traditions, and culture clashing as the British Raj becomes Regent on behalf of the Maharanis, the dowager queen, and her daughter-in-law. 

When the two Maharanis dispute over the education of the young crown prince, a lawyer's counsel is required. Preven Mistry is called to assist, Bombay's only female lawyer. Determined to bring peace to the royal house, she arrives only to find herself in the middle of political powerplays, ancient vendettas, and a deadly curse.
