Program Description

Event Details

In honor of Indigenous Peoples Month we have invited Sandra Gipson to lead children in a traditional Native American drum making workshop.

During this workshop participants will be instructed in how to make musical percussive instruments out of recycled materials as well as out of natural materials such as sticks, gourds, bamboo, etc.

Participants will paint, stencil, or appliqué designs on the instruments and learn the joy of making music.

This event is sponsored by the Community Artists Program through the Office of Arts and Culture.
