Program Description

Event Details

Join us for an overview of the air quality and climate in Dallas and North Texas with a focus on how we measure air quality, the things we do to improve air quality, and how the air quality and climate impacts communities.  With the current intense heat, it is a good time to learn all we can about these topics.

Kevin Overton, Senior Environmental Coordinator with the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability

Kevin Overton manages key air quality programs and initiatives for the City of Dallas such as air quality compliance and associated improvement programs. He is currently instrumental in the purchase and installation of the local Community Air Quality Monitors that will be installed in a number of neighborhoods around the city, and you will hear more about this new initiative in today’s program. Kevin has extensive experience with the City of Dallas’ Environmental Management System and the Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory.

Prior to his 15-year tenure at the City of Dallas, Kevin worked in private industry and at the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for over 25 years. He is an experienced professional focusing on environmental compliance, air quality permitting, atmospheric dispersion modeling, source evaluation and testing, and pollution prevention.
