Know Your City: Office of Equity & Inclusion

Know Your City is an ongoing series all about how the City of Dallas works. This is designed to provide information about city departments and offer residents the opportunity to ask questions of the people who provide essential services.

The Office of Equity & Inclusion will discuss the efforts of its various divisions to advance equity, inclusion, and social justice in Dallas. The Welcoming Communities and Immigration Affairs Division  seeks to bridge the space between newcomers and existing Dallas residents. Their ​​​​​Fair Housing Division addresses systemic barriers to a just distribution of resources, access to services, and the proper investigation of housing discrimination complaints. Finally, the Human Rights Division oversees community efforts to develop a human rights plan for the City of Dallas and monitors Chapter 46 Enforcement for fair employment access.
