Event Details

This year Camp Wisdom of Circle Ten Council celebrates its 100th anniversary. Camp started in 1923 and is the oldest existing Scout camp in Texas.

The lure of the outdoors and legends are part of the camp's traditions. Scouts’ rank and merit badges for advancement happen at camp, leading to the Eagle Scout award.

Today Camp Wisdom offers fun and excitement teaching self-reliance, team building, and selfless service to our community. The camp contains 368 acres of rolling wooded hills with two lakes and an artesian spring where Scouts can explore a variety of activities.

This exhibit features Scout memorabilia highlighting the beginning and early history of Camp Wisdom and the story of John Shelby "Daddy" Wisdom, the camp’s namesake. Items organized by Bob Reitz, Museum Curator of the Jack Harbin Scout Museum at Camp Wisdom will be on display along with images from the Dallas History & Archives.
