Not as well known as European Honeybees, Texas' native bees are nevertheless vital components of a healthy environment, and can provide a whole new dimension of enjoyment in your home landscape. This program will cover current challenges all bee species are facing, why bees matter to all of us, facts about gentle solitary native bees and their lifestyles, and photo examples of the many beautiful forms and colors of native bees. It includes tips on what to plant and provide to attract them to your home landscape, and basic identification hints. We'll discuss simple homemade native bee nest sites and find out how people of all ages can participate in nationwide citizen science tracking efforts.

"Master Naturalists Present..." is a monthly series featuring presentations from local nature experts of the nonprofit North Texas Master Naturalists. This month's presenter is Carol Clark, a longtime member of the Native Plant Society of Texas and a Conservation Specialist with Monarch Watch.
