Step into a world of science fiction, artificial intelligence, and Murdebot with award-winning author and Texas native- Martha Wells. The evening will be filled with activities to entertain and inspire you!
And don't forget to stop by our merchants area and support local shops!

- Sci-Fi Trivia & "Defend the One True Pair" Game (4–5 p.m.)
- Test your knowledge with a mix of sci-fi literature trivia, including famous AI in fiction.
- Play a round to more of Defend the One True Pair!
- Groups will be assigned a randomly selected fictional AI or robot and must come up and defend why their pairing is the ultimate "One True Pair" (OTP).
- Expect engaging and humorous debates led by a moderator, with audience participation encouraged to vote for the OTP.

- Photo Op Area (4–7:30 p.m.)
- Snap a picture in a sci-fi-inspired setting to commemorate the night. Cosplay is always welcome and encouraged!
- Murderbot Confessional (4–7:30 p.m.)
- Step into the StoryCenter to record your own “Murderbot-style” diary entry or confessional. Submissions will be compiled into a digital archive.
- Artificial Intelligence and Ethics (5–6 p.m.)
- ALA AI-certified library staff will guide a thought-provoking discussion on the uses and ethical considerations of AI.
- Book Sales by Half Price Books (5:30–7:30 p.m.)
- Browse and purchase books, including selections related to the evening’s themes.
- Author Talk with Martha Wells (6–7 p.m.)
- Hugo Award-winning author Martha Wells will discuss her work, followed by an audience Q&A.
