Celebrate Austen’s 249th birthday with tea, a Pride and Prejudice presentation from the Friends of Jane Austen, crafts, and more!
The premier Regency author’s work is still just as important, timely, and human as it was more than two centuries ago. In fact, we keep remaking it! Dr. Theresa Kenney, a professor at the University of Dallas and an official member of the Friends of Jane Austen, will be talking about just that: how the timeless classic Pride and Prejudice has been adapted for modern screens and watchers - and how accurate the adaptations may or may not be. Come listen to her presentation and enjoy a cup of tea with us at the Lakewood Branch! There will be take home craft kits and vendors as well as photo opportunities and swag.
We have very limited space for vendors, but if you’re interested, please contact us at lakewood@dallas.gov or call 214-670-1376!
This event is sponsored by the Lakewood Library Friends and the Friends of Jane Austen.
