From Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" to Kendrick Lamar's "Alright," mixing music and poetry has been an artistic approach to resistance in times of political unrest. Join us as Dallas-based performer, poet & artist Alex Tha Great walks through the creation and impact of these famous pieces - and discusses how to start your own movement. This program is part of our ongoing Black History Month celebration and is funded by the Friends of the Dallas Public Library and the Office of Arts & Culture.

Materials will be provided, for ages 13 and up.
