When we think about Shakespeare, we think of it performed in a very specific accent. However, Shakespeare hasn’t always sounded like that!
In honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's First Folio, the first complete publication of William Shakespeare's works, Bare Bones Shakespeare will lead an Original Pronunciation Workshop. This workshop will illustrate the original rhyme and rhythm of Shakespeare’s works.
Experience scenes from plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Troilus and Cressida, in their "Original Pronunciation" as spoken by Shakespeare's original cast, and its effect on how they are performed. Adding to the fun is an element of audience participation in this fascinating and humor-filled afternoon event.
No registration required.
This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
