Be part of the solution to habitat loss! Learn how to attract all sorts of birds to your own landscape by planning and planting for all their needs. We'll focus on native Texas plants with high wildlife values and consider some of the different ways birds use their surroundings at different life stages. You'll learn general principles for creating a bird friendly space and specific plants you can use.
Carol Clark moved to North Texas decades ago and has been studying the native plants of Texas ever since, with special attention paid to their usefulness to birds and insects. She is a Texas Master Naturalist, longtime member of the Native Plant Society of Texas, and a Monarch Watch Conservation Specialist. Carol and her husband own Clark Haven Farm, a 37 acre wildlife refuge and native wildflower seed business. With over 350 species of native plants naturally occurring on the property, birds, Monarchs and other insects have plenty of ready habitat on the farm. Her favorite thing to do is find and photograph interesting plants.
