In that small Alabama town, Dr. King and countless brave citizens risked everything to secure one of our most fundamental rights: the right to vote.

Directed by Ava DuVernay, Selma tells the powerful story of the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery marches, a defining moment in the American civil rights movement. The film centers on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., portrayed by David Oyelowo, as he leads a campaign for equal voting rights in the face of intense opposition and violence.
