Bring your little one to our Preschool STEM program to introduce them to shapes, colors, and 3D building, all the while strengthening their imagination, creativity, social and fine motor skills. Our Preschool STEM program this summer features Magnetic Tiles.

Sponsored by the Audelia Road Library Friends with help from the Lake Highlands Women's League.

Magnetic tile toys allow kids to practice following directions to build specific structures, but also allows them to plan and build their own creations using their imagination and creativity. The tiles help younger kids master their colors and shapes.

When using STEM magnetic building tiles, kids practice picking up and turning tiles in order to stick them together, the more they practice, the sharper their fine motor skills become.

Building 3D shapes with magnetic tiles helps kids grasp visual-spatial skills long before they take a geometry class (or drive a car).

"Magnetic tiles have a reputation for being great and certified STEM product toys, so you might be surprised to hear that they can also help develop language skills. When they collaborate with a parent, sibling, or classmate on building a structure with tiles, kids need to clearly and verbally communicate. This can be a challenge for younger kids, but it’s a great way to develop communication skills in a low-stress environment."
