Celebrate Pride with us by learning about the History of Camp Culture!
SMU Professor Sean Griffin will deliver a presentation titled "Camp: The History of the Secret Language of LGBTQ Communities". Following the presentation, we will screen the film But I'm a Cheerleader, which complements the topic discussed.
In addition, craft stations will be set up for patrons to have hands-on activities, such as crocheting hearts with colored yarn representing their gender identity, creating monotype prints, and crafting paper tissue hearts. These hearts can be added to a permanent community mural on the 4th floor window, symbolizing collective participation!
This event is free to the public and is welcoming to all ages!
(Please be aware that the film being screened is Rated R)
Parking: Event parking is free in the library's parking garage. The entrance is located behind the library, on Wood. St. (Put 1541 Wood St. into your GPS.)
