Event Details

Reel Voices is a one-day interactive filmmaking workshop and screening event designed to uplift youth voices
from underrepresented communities through the medium of film.

Led by filmmaker and photographer Christopher Sonny Martinez, the event will take place at a Dallas Public Library or Recreation Center ideally in South Dallas, a culturally rich and historically significant Black and Brown community, or Vickery Meadow, one of Dallas most diverse neighborhoods with a large immigrant and refugee population.

Martinez, a Dallas native and Lead Youth Educator for the Pegasus Portable Film Program for Youth (PFPY), will
guide participants through a hands-on visual storytelling workshop focused on helping young people express their
identities through short-form film. The day concludes with a screening of youth-created short films from the PFPY
program, followed by a community Q&A.

This media arts project is presented by Pegasus Media Project, a nonprofit incubator for transformative
storytelling. Reel Voices brings film education and youth media to public spaces, providing free access to creative
tools, mentorship, and community dialogue.
