In celebration of National Women's History Month, experience a day of inspiration, empowerment, and celebration as we illuminate the remarkable women who have shattered barriers and triumphed in traditionally male-dominated fields. "Shattered: Women Breaking Barriers" features a full of day of events dedicated to honoring the achievements, resilience, and indomitable spirit of these trailblazing women.

Event Highlights: Keynote Speakers, craft workshops, networking opportunities, inclusive marketplace.

Featuring: 

  • 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Dr. Ruth Simmons, former University President of Brown University and Prairie View A&M and author of Up Home: One Girl's Journey

    • Pre-signed books will be available for sale from Whose Books!!

  • 1- 2 PM: Robin Mainer, Owner of Lewisville's Honest 1 Auto Care, a mechanic's shop

  • 2-3PM: Kaysie Ellingson, Managing Producer of Video at KERA 

Activities: 

  • Noon - 1PM: Self Reflection Paintings
  • 3- 3:45 PM: Leather Wrist Bands
  • Zine-making; Affirmation Jars
