Spoken Word, Honoring African American Poets and Authors

This event is being hosted by District 5 Council Member Jaime Resendez, the Office of Arts & Culture, and the Prairie Creek Branch Library. This is a family event.

Two performers from the Dallas Community Artist Program will entertain and enlighten us with the featured program, then members of the community who have signed up for our "Open Mic" will perform.

OPEN MIC:  This program is a Spoken Word program; performance should be reading a poem or short story, a monologue, or a speech dealing with the African American experience.  You will have 3-5 minutes, (strictly enforced).

Registration is  NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND this event, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to be a part of OPEN MIC.
