It's the week you've been waiting for: Spring Break! We've got a lot of ways to relax and have fun at the library: explore outer space, compete in a Switch championship, make art, meet exotic animals, see a movie, check out a fire truck - and maybe even learn something new. (Don't worry - we won't tell!)
Spring Break Around the World
Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m., White Rock Hills Branch
Take your spring break vacation at the library! During Spring Break week you’ll learn about five popular tourist spots from around the world, craft a souvenir and create your own passport to get stamped for every day you participate! Registration is required.

Magic Tree House Spring Break Series
Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 at 2 p.m., Lakewood Branch
Inspired by the “Magic Tree House” books by Mary Pope Osborne, this special series is designed to transport young readers into a world of imagination and exploration. Each day, we'll dive into a different time period or location, just like Jack and Annie do in the books, with exciting activities and adventures that mirror their quests. From the time of the dinosaurs to the heart of the Renaissance, we'll bring the stories of Jack and Annie to life. Registration is required.

An Out-of-this-World Spring Break

Join us for some out-of-this-world fun during spring break! Monday through Friday we'll be exploring outer space through different activities and fun lessons! Registration is recommended.

Spring Break: Switch Tournament
Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 at 2:30 p.m., White Rock Hills Branch
Show off your drifting and driving skills at our Spring Break Switch Tournament. Teens will earn points for attendance and matches won. The top three players with the most points will win prizes! Registration is required.
Spring Break Adventure: Super Hero Camp
Tuesday, March 12 through Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m.,Vickery Park Branch
Welcome to the Superhero Spring Camp, where young heroes-to-be gather to discover and develop their extraordinary abilities! As the flowers bloom and the days grow longer, it's the perfect time for aspiring superheroes to harness the power of spring and embark on an adventure of a lifetime.

Delve into the world of Sherlock Holmes! We will do hands-on experiments to learn techniques that the world’s most famous (fictional) detective used to solve his cases. Suggested ages: 6-11 years old.

Fly High with the Birds of Prey
Monday, March 11 at 2 p.m., Timberglen Branch
Education specialists from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will bring hawks, owls and falcons and discuss these animals’ roles in the environment, how they adapt, hunt and more. Live animals will be present at this event. Geared to ages 6 and up.
Spring Break Super Snack
Tuesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 14 at 3:30 p.m., Pleasant Grove Branch
Refuel during Spring Break with a free nutritious super snack for ages 1-18. Meals are made possible through the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Child and Education PV.
