Get Started with Grants and Nonprofits! This four-class series will walk students through the basics of starting a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, from incorporation paperwork to writing your first grant proposal. Learn what you’ll need at each step, how to use Candid databases to research potential funders and promote your own organization, and more!

January's class will cover the process of starting a nonprofit organization in Texas: what tax-exempt status is and how it works, what paperwork you'll need to file at both the state and federal levels, setting up your board, and resources you'll find helpful along the way.

This class will be held in-person on the 6th floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library. Register below to secure your spot. To register for the virtual version, click here.
