Did you know a brooms are traditionally made from the broom plant?
"I am sent with broom before,
To sweep the dust behind the door," says Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Learn about plants in Shakespeare while making a practical item to use every day. Cynthia Main of SunHouse Crafts joins Botanical Shakespeare author Gerit Quealy to teach you how to make a real broom (from the broom plant) in this fun and eco-friendly program.
Free kits to make your own broom are available while supplies last. Please indicate which Dallas Public Library Branch you would like to pick your kit up at when you register. We will notify you when your kit is at your chosen location and ready to pickup.
This program made possible by the Dallas Shakespeare Club and the Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
