Travel Mementos by Kim Ballesteros

       "Traveling is my greatest love - after making art - and the assemblages in this exhibition showcase some of my favorite destinations and adventures. Using vintage postcards and my own photographs as backdrops, I try to offer small, nostalgic glimpses into other countries.

        I suppose I’ve always loved filling boxes with tiny treasures and found objects, but it wasn’t until I attended an art retreat in Oaxaca in 2017 that I learned how to visualize an assemblage piece, to join the items together in a pleasing way, to tell a story, to evoke a memory."
