Event Details

Step into a world of festive cheer and cultural exploration at our Winter Wonderland event, where we'll come together to celebrate the rich tapestry of winter holidays, traditions, and the joy of the season! Come for an afternoon filled with creativity, learning, and community as we honor Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and the secular aspects of winter celebrations.

Hanukkah Highlights:

Discover the significance of Hanukkah as we come together to decorate and build paper dreidels, a beloved symbol of the holiday. Learn about the history, traditions, and rituals associated with Hanukkah while expressing your creativity and crafting your own dreidel masterpiece to cherish and enjoy.

Kwanzaa Knowledge:

Immerse yourself in the rich heritage and cultural significance of Kwanzaa as we explore the seven principles of the holiday. This involves a hands-on activity to create a paper chain representing the unity, creativity, and collective spirit of Kwanzaa.

Christmas Crafts:

Get into the festive spirit of Christmas as we gather to create beautiful snowflake ornaments out of pipe cleaners and pony beads. These dazzling ornaments will be used to decorate a Christmas tree right here at the library, spreading joy and holiday cheer to all who visit during the season.

Secular Splendor:

Indulge your creative side with a variety of secular winter activities, including decorating wooden snowflake ornaments and crafting your very own polar bear diorama to take home and display proudly. Let your imagination soar as you express the magic and wonder of the winter season through art and creativity.

This event is open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and there's something for everyone to enjoy as we come together to celebrate the diversity of winter traditions and spread warmth and happiness throughout our community.
