For our first activity this Hispanic Heritage month, journey with us to the country of Mexico to learn about and create amate art. Amate art is a traditional folk art that uses brightly colored paper made from tree bark.

Mexican Muralism Painting
Muralism was an important artistic tradition in 20th-century Mexico. Learn about Diego Rivera and other Mexican muralists, then sketch a mural with other participants or create your own painting inspired by the artists!
Each class features beginner level instructions in guitar by an experienced instructor. Instruments provided. Great for ages 8 - 18. For the best learning experience, students should try to attend as many sessions as possible.
