The Perot Museum is bringing over a variety of cool STEM projects for us to try out, so stop by throughout the afternoon to engage in hands on activities based on science, technology, engineering, &math (S.T.E.M.)!

Kids are invited to join the fun, play an exciting round of trivia, and win cool prizes!

Flex your engineering skills and creative muscles with building bricks! Each month will have a different theme.

All supplies provided. 

Make a paper rocket, use a digital microscope, and make real electric circuits! These are just three of the STEM stations you can find at the Perot Museum's Community Science Meet Up!

Have you ever wished your drawings would come alive and the stick figures or objects on your paper could move around? What sounds impossible actually is not! In this activity, you will make your drawing move around by letting it float on water.

Spiders and beetles and centipedes, OH MY! Come join Bernie the Bug Lady as she shows her collection of insects and teaches all about the world of bugs.

A mysterious portal pulls four misfits into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master the terrain while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve.

A bite-sized, themed reading adventure designed to spark curiosity and keep the fun going! Each session explores a new theme with engaging stories and coloring afterwards. 

Calling all kid builders!

Come to the Lochwood Branch Library and build with LEGO bricks. Challenge your brain with some exciting builds and have lots of fun! We supply the LEGO bricks, you supply the creativity and positive attitude!

Share your creativity as we get crafty every Tuesday afternoon!

A "Rainbow in a Tube" STEM activity uses either density-based layering of colored liquids (sugar water) or color-mixing with water jelly crystals in a clear container to teach primary/secondary colors and density.

Get ready to bring the stadium to the library! In this hands-on workshop, young inventors will transform everyday materials—like cardboard boxes, popsicle sticks, and straws—into their very own tabletop foosball game.

Juggling

Unleash your imagination at the Lakewood Branch’s Lego Hour!  This will be a dedicated hour for building whatever you’d like using Legos.  Build and chat with others as you work together or get inspiration for your own projects. 

Practice your reading skills in a fun, relaxed environment by reading to a therapy dog! These trained therapy dogs will be the most well behaved and kindest paw-dience you have ever had.
