4 out of 5 Indigenous women are affected by violence today, with murder rates more than 10 times the national average. So why don't we hear about this shocking issue more?
Kicking off Women's history month with an important discussion on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's (MMIW) crisis that has been a problem through generations. An issue the Indigenous community has been facing and fighting for decades. Jodi Voice Yellowfish and MMIW TX Rematriate Members will discuss the crisis, past, present, and future. From the Indian Relocation Act, federal policies, current issues faced by the Native community, and share resources.
