Program Description

Event Details

This project teaches the science of chromatography and includes a fun art segment at the end. Chromatography is a process which involves separating the components of a mixture. In this case, this project will showcase the different colors within markers.
The children will draw a colored line across different strips of chromatography paper. They will then place the paper in the water and watch as the color spread up the strip of paper. After the strips dry, they can then weave the strips together to make beautiful woven art or for younger children, cut the strips up and paste them down to make stained-glass style art.

Recommended for ages 6-10. Supplies are limited to the first 24 participants.
