Dallas Black Dance Theatre - Ensembles in the Community

Thanks to funding from the Cultural Vitality Program of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, Dallas Black Dance Theatre will provide a free public performance at the Pleasant Grove Branch Library. The three performing ensembles of the Dallas Black Dance Academy will perform approximately 6-9 dance pieces in a concert totaling 45 minutes to 1 hour. This performance will bring concert dance to the community while also encouraging youth attending that they too can pursue artistic training if they desire. Dallas Black Dance Theatre has heard from numerous audience members over the years that it is especially important for children of color to see themselves represented in art and on the stage. The ensembles will perform a variety of dance styles suitable for family audiences.
