Event Details

It’s almost April and time for a special water conservation challenge. The city of Dallas has invited the Wyland Foundation president, Steve Creech, to educate us on Wyland the artist, programs like the upcoming 2022 Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge, and countless community events that are leading the way to inspire millions of people to become creative, positive, and focused on clean water, cleaning waterways, shorelines, and loving water conservation.

The creative and passionate man who started the foundation is Wyland, a marine artist, who loves the ocean and everything in it as well as what it represents to the planet.  His paintings can be larger than life or the size you would expect, but all of them honor oceans, and the creatures and habitats found in the depths or shallows of those life-giving waters. It’s St. Patrick’s Day, so let’s give the planet a kiss and welcome the Wyland Foundation to our wonderful City.

By the way, including the recent 2021 and 2020 wins, Dallas is the proud four-time winning recipients of the Wyland Foundation National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation in the Big City Category. Go Dallas, let’s win this again in 2022!

Earth Day Every Day is a series of online environmental education sessions continuing with the Earth Day theme and bringing expert speakers, special program topics, and a reminder that every day is Earth Day. Presented by Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability (DEQS; Green Dallas).  These topics empower Dallas residents to make sustainable choices that improve the quality of life for everyone in Dallas and the world.
