Join us for a fun and educating program, “Top 10 Plants for Household Air Quality”, with Drew Demler, the State Fair of Texas’ director of horticulture and operator of the Big Tex Urban Farms in Dallas, TX. Fresh greens come from this farm year around.
Learn about a unique way to naturally cleanse the air of toxins that can have a negative effect on your health. He also talks about greenhouses, urban farms, his passion for service, and how he guides his program. Or if you just want to take extra air quality precautions, learn how adding a few of these common houseplants to the most important areas of your home are great first steps to improving your homes air quality!

Drew Demler Bio:
Drew is a recognized skilled grower, urban farmer, and passionate leader as the State Fair of Texas’ director of horticulture. Drew continues to excel in his position by ensuring that the Big Tex Urban Farms is producing fresh greens year-round so that the Fair can donate those greens to the community.
Previously, Drew’s background has been in community gardens, farm management, non-profit work and so much more. He started working at a garden center at an early age in Baton Rouge. In his 20s he moved to Austin managing the largest independent garden center, and then he went on to start his own garden center for six years. He came to Dallas when he became a head horticulturist for the Dallas Arboretum, and less than a year later, he joined the fair.
His passion for service and horticulture drives him, so its no wonder he is doing such an amazing job at Big Tex Urban Farms!
