Event Details
Bob Rigdon has been metal detecting for 44 years. He focuses on historic sites, often visiting locations of demolished structures to search for artifacts with his metal detector before new construction begins. Many of the items featured in this exhibit are from Dallas freedmen's towns, Black settlements that were established by formerly enslaved people who were emancipated after the Civil War in the United States.
Robert Lee "Bob" Rigdon is a resident of Duncanville and a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to decades of experience in metal detecting, he is also a professional family genealogist, actor and research historian featured in several treasure hunting magazines. His YouTube channel highlights some of the significant relics he has found and preserved.
