If you’re looking for ways to build a love of writing in your child, then you’ve come to the right place!
Explore Horizons will be holding a FREE writing workshop at the Forest Green Library on February 6, 2019 from 1:30 - 2:30 PM, in hopes to assist children interested in submitting their essay for a chance to win a trophy, a KIndle Fire HD, $500 worth of books for their school and have their story published and brought to life by an illustrator!
The Explore Horizons Writers’ Award is an annual, short-story writing competition which aims to discover the most talented young authors in North Texas. Students between the ages of 4 and 14 are invited to write a story of no more than 500 words on a given theme, to be judged by a top children’s author (see attachment for more info!)
Our 2019 theme is “A Chance to Change the World.” From January 21st to April 1st 2019, our competition gives children an opportunity to see the great reward in the magic of their own short story writing.
Explore Horizons believes that finding the fun in writing is essential to developing the confidence and motivation to become a skilled and fearless writer!
