Celebrate Family History Month with the Dallas Public LibraryDallas Genealogical Society and the Genealogy Network of Texas (GNT), a state-wide initiative to connect libraries/genealogical societies and provide educational and research opportunities! You can sign up to attend our online event and watch the following FREE presentations:

  • 10-11 a.m. Deciphering Handwriting in Genealogical Records Joseph B. Everett, MLS, AG, Family & Local History Librarian (BYU Library)
  • 11:10-12 p.m. Improve, Expand, and Enrich your Family Tree – With Tax Records Doug Waggoner, Family Historian 
  • 12:10 – 1:20 p.m. Building and Researching Your Family Tree Bill Buckner and Hannah Kubacak, Genealogy Center (Waco-McLennan County Library)
  • 1:30 –2:30 p.m. Choosing Genealogy Services & Software Tony Hanson, Family Historian
  • 2:40 – 3:30 p.m. Citing Sources Without Stressing Out Amy Johnson Crow, MLS, founder and lead educator at Generations Connection, host of Generations Café podcast
  • 3:40 – 4:55 p.m. How to Approach and Solve Brick Wall Problems with DNA Sara Allen, Senior Librarian, Allen County Public Library, Genealogy Center
  • 5 – 5:50 p.m. United States Migration Patterns: Why They Left, Where They Went, and the Stories They Left Behind LeAnne McCamey, professional genealogist, publisher, author, and owner of American Genealogical Research Services

As a bonus, all registrants will get access to watch Making the Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center Your Research Assistant with Curt B. Witcher, Genealogy Center Senior Manager, Special Collections, Allen County Public Library

Registrants will be sent a link to virtually attend the event on Thursday, October 20. No conference meeting platform will be used.
