Have a great idea that you think would make for a great play or screenplay but just not sure how to get started? We got you! Join us for a fun and inspiring writing workshop with local award-winning playwright Shyama Nithiananda - guaranteed to get your ideas flowing and your pen on paper!
This workshop is open to all current high school students & is completely FREE!

Meet the Instructor: Shyama Nithiananda is a Dallas-based playwright, director, actor, and dramaturg. Her short play, Lavani, was most recently featured in Bishop Arts Theatre Center's 3rd Annual Banned Books Festival. Her full-length play, Feeding the Cat Incorrectly Several Times Over also recently received a world premiere production at Echo Theatre after winning the Texas Shout Out Playwriting Contest and receiving a First Read as part of SparkFest 2023 at Amphibian Stage. Shyama is also a part of the 2024 Thought Process Playwriting Cohort at Second Thought Theatre and was awarded the 2021 Rosenfield Playwriting Award at Southern Methodist University where she earned her BFA in Theatre Studies.
