Brian Myers, president of the Bonsai Society of Dallas, will discuss how to get started in bonsai cultivation, choosing a source material, and techniques used to achieve the desired look for each source material. Bonsai is the Japanese pronunciation of the Chinese term penzai, an art popularized during the Tang dynasty. The term bonsai is now an umbrella term, but traditionally, bonsai refers to miniaturized, container-grown trees adhering to Japanese tradition and principles.
Bonsai Society of Dallas meets on the first Saturday of every month at North Haven Gardens, from 9:00 AM to noon. They also host workshops, guest lecturers and demonstrations throughout the year.
This program is available online only.
Grow with Us is a series of online sessions from the Dallas Public Library - Seed Library and Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability hosting expert speakers to share practical, informative, and inspirational information about growing and urban agriculture in Dallas.
