Your Genealogical Research: Ancestry, Family Search and the Treasures of the Dallas Public Library
Ari Wilkins, Genealogy Associate, J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, Dallas

Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org are the hottest and most popular sites for genealogical research. Accessing these websites can yield endless possibilities for your genealogical research.  On February 11, at 10 am, GUSTO! will hear from Ari Wilkins who is a genealogist and library associate at Dallas Public Library, where she provides genealogy programming and education. She worked with the esteemed genealogist, Dr. James Rose on his project, “Generations: The WPA Ex-Slave Narrative Database.” In this presentation, we will learn how to conduct basic genealogy research, navigate the site, effectively use search tools, customize research and how to print and save sources.
