Program Description
Event Details
Go live with one of our DPL Personal Librarians and author, Amber Lough! Listen and participate in this live podcast recording of PLP Fiction (But not just fiction!). Amber will talk about the importance of registering to vote and how imperative it is for women to vote, along with her book Open Fire.
Program attendees will receive a free copy of Open Fire, while supplies last.*
Open Fire is the story of a woman who joins a Russian all-female army battalion in Russia's 1917 war with Germany. It's a dramatic page-turner that captures the devastating toll of war and the impact of women's struggles and solidarity, through the lens of a little-known slice of history.
Amber lives in Germany. She's a life-long traveller and learner of languages. After a short career in the U.S. Air Force, Amber discovered that if writing was her true passion, that’s what she should be doing.
