What’s your story? From hunting, fishing, to playing tag outside, folk art can be anything that shows us a story! So, what will you create?  

Today you will be creating your own amate folk painting! What is amate (ah-MAH-tay)? Amate refers to the traditional medium of bark that was used to create these folk paintings, amate paintings have brown backgrounds with brightly colored art painted on. Today we will be using something much more accessible to create our own folk art, brown paper bags!  

Make your own folk art with this easy way for a traditional look! 

This is an outdoor event and will be held outdoors at Highland Hills Branch Library.  Masks are recommended, as well as social distancing.
