April 22: Understanding Diabetes, Key Labs, and Health Technology
This session will explain what diabetes is, how it develops, and why blood sugar regulation matters. We will review the most relevant labs used to diagnose and monitor diabetes—including A1C, fasting glucose, insulin, and lipid markers—and discuss how modern tools like continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and glucose meters help individuals better understand and improve their blood sugar patterns.
May 27: How to Eat for Diabetes and Blood Sugar Control
Participants will learn how food affects blood sugar and insulin response. This session focuses on building balanced meals, understanding carbohydrate quality, prioritizing protein and fiber, and applying practical strategies for everyday meals, dining out, and snacks.
June 24: Mastering Nutrition Label Reading
This session teaches participants how to read and interpret food labels confidently. Topics include understanding total vs. net carbohydrates, identifying added sugars, recognizing misleading marketing claims, and choosing foods that support stable blood sugar and overall metabolic health.
July 22: Lifestyle vs. Medication — How They Work Together
The final session explores the role of lifestyle changes and diabetes medications, including how nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management enhance medication effectiveness. The focus is on sustainable habits, reducing glucose variability, and improving long-term health outcomes.
