Get ready, because Science Experiment Saturdays are back at Oak Lawn this January! Get curious, get messy, and start thinking like a real scientist. Each month, young scientists will explore a new hands-on experiment designed to spark creativity and curiosity while learning the steps of the scientific method: making a hypothesis, testing it out, and reflecting on what they discovered. Science Experiment Saturdays offer a fun and safe space for little experimenters to explore and learn without their grown-ups having to worry about supervision, safety goggles, or cleanup duty. Expect laughter, learning, and loads of laboratory fun!
(Note: “No supervision required” means no mopping up glitter, not no grown-ups! Adults are welcome to join the fun, observe in the room, or sneak in a few quiet library minutes while we experiment.)
Science gets sweet this month as we grow heart-shaped crystals just in time for Valentine’s Day! Kids will learn about crystal formation, make their own predictions, and see their shimmering results take shape, proving that chemistry can truly come from the heart.
