SHHH! Do you want to join the Secret Society? The Secret Society of Children’s Books is a bi-monthly lecture series that features a particular historical item from the Dallas Public Library’s Siddie Joe Johnson Children’s Literature Collection. Each program will present background information on the book and author, selected readings, and a presentation on historical or social issues related to the story.

Featuring the sequel to Lofting’s The Story of Doctor Dolittle, in anticipation of the Doctor Dolittle movie starring Robert Downey, Jr. arriving in theaters in January 2020.
