The Senior Source will be sharing free resources for seniors and their caregivers.
In the auditorium: The Caregiver Support Program
Are you a caregiver of an aging loved one and need help? The Senior Source Caregiver Support Team will be onsite at the Dallas Public Library MLK Branch offering in-person assistance in the following areas:
- Incontinence Supplies
- Information and Referrals to Community Resources
- Care Consultations (solution-based case management focused on the needs of the caregiver and the care recipient)
- Caregiver Support Groups
- Registration for upcoming education classes.
In the classroom: Elder Financial Safety Center
The Elder Financial Safety Center helps older adults who are struggling financially. Our mission is to ensure every older adult lives in a safe community with the financial resources to securely age with dignity. Our team will be in-person assisting individuals with services include the following:
- Budgeting
- Screening for Benefits
- Income Support
- Employment Services
- Technology Training
- Debt Management
- Financial Literacy/Education
- Money Management
- Frauds, Scams and Exploitation prevention and recovery
In the library: Utility Assistance
If you have one of the following utility bills:
- TXU – electric
- Ambit – electric
- Atmos Energy – gas
and you are a 60 or older resident of Dallas or Collin County, we can help. We will see all that we can on a first-come, first-served basis, so please be prepared to wait.
Please bring the following documents with you:
- Driver’s License or other picture ID
- Proof of Income (SS letter, pension statement, employment income, etc.)
- Utility Bill
